Design in Puglia

The Puglia region has always been a place of natural excellence, thanks to its unique geographical position between Europe and the Mediterranean. Over time, new know-how, skills, and technologies have mixed with Puglia’s traditions, leading to new research and experimentation. The resources and techniques of Apulian craftsmanship have been enriched with new values, bringing materials such as stone, fabrics, metal, and ceramics to increasingly appreciated levels of quality and excellence worldwide.
This authenticity, reflecting the unique character of the region, has emerged as a highly valued aspect in the tourism industry. It plays a significant role in making Puglia the destination of choice for millions of visitors each year.

The story of Puglia Design Excellence

The temporary exhibition is organized by Regione Puglia. It aims at enhancing the creativity, talent, and story of nine Apulian companies and designers by showcasing a selection of design products made in Puglia.

The exhibition Autentico. Sustainable design made in Puglia”, after its stops in New York and at the Salone del Mobile in Milano, is now arriving in Bari at the Fiera del Levante. This edition brings a double opportunity: along with the exhibition, presented in the same format using the same sustainable structures from Milano, there will be business opportunities for companies. We’re hosting a dual incoming event for Canadian companies, offering them the chance to experience firsthand the quality and creativity of our region’s businesses. Our goal is to shine a spotlight on the authentic design, talent, and production excellence of Puglia. We are focusing on local productions that are thriving in international markets, thanks to their ability to merge tradition and history with innovation and ongoing experimentation.

Regional Councillor for Economic Development Puglia Region

We’ve already showcased this exhibition in New York, at BDNY, and in Milano at the Salone del Mobile, the global event for the design and architecture industry. We watched Autentico. Sustainable Design made in Puglia first spark curiosity, then capture the attention of international architects, designers, and contractors. Now, this remarkable showcase of Puglian design excellence returns home, strengthened by its success abroad, thanks to a compelling narrative and top-quality products. It’s an authentic offering, ready to win over the many buyers, stakeholders, and key figures in architecture and design attending one of the Mediterranean’s most important events.

Co-Founder & Creative Director Archiproducts

When our company’s journey began 25 years ago, the Fiera del Levante was our first major showcase, the one that opened the door from our region to international markets.
Today, Autentico returns to the Fiera after taking center stage in the U.S. and at the Salone del Mobile. This reverse journey highlights how much Puglia’s influence has grown—not only in traditionally strong sectors like tourism and food, but also in furniture, design, and architecture. Our key insight was realizing that digital was the tool to elevate Puglian businesses: investing in cultural heritage and human capital, while betting on the potential to be global from right here in Puglia.
